H1N1 (Swine Flu) Information

The federal government has predicted a significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall and winter. District 202 began preparing last summer for such an outbreak by planning how we will keep our schools clean and safe; and how we will respond if such an outbreak occurs.

We will continue to work with and rely on guidance from local, state and national health experts. Our plan may change based on actual circumstances.

Please be assured that our main goal is to both ensure our students’ and staff members’ health and well being, and keep our children in school so that they can continue learning.

Remember that H1N1 is, simply, the flu. The best way to prevent the spread of any flu is to practice good hygiene etiquette -- cover your face when you sneeze and wash your hands often with soap and water.

Here is some key information outlining our plans, and steps students, parents and families can take to help prevent the spread of H1N1, and any kind of flu virus.
