RI Attendance Awards

Perfect Attendance Award distribution day.

Ridge participates in a popular Perfect Attendance incentive plan.  Students are  able to earn a collectable tag for each month they achieve perfect attendance, August thru May.  The "rules" are simple…perfect attendance for the month will earn a tag. This means no days absent, tardy, or signed out early for the month. This may seem like a difficult goal to achieve, but in reality, a neighboring PCCSD202 elementary building had an average of 392 students each month last year that had perfect attendance!

All students received a Ridge starter tag and keychain to begin their collection in Spring 2012 with the program roll out.   Additional tags may also be awarded for demonstrating good character traits and random acts of kindness throughout the school.

We enjoy this fun way to reward students for their commitment to education, and it is our hope that we will be able to increase our overall student attendance with this incentive. Statistics show that one of the most important ways to improve your child’s rate of success in school is to ensure that they are in attendance regularly. Improved attendance also results in more state funding for our schools, which directly benefits your children.

RI 3rd grade field trip

Third grade students will head to yesterday at the Joliet Historical Museum.  Toys and games will illustrate how Native American and pioneer children lived over two-hundred years ago.  Students will engage in hands-on game and toy playing and discover, in the process, that kids today are very much like those of yester-year.  Please send a sack lunch with your child.
