census 2020, everyone counts!

The 2020 Census will be held next spring and it’s vitally important to our community that everyone be counted. The Census helps determine our legislative districts and federal funding.

Here is some basic information about the Census.

Did You Know?

The Census will hire thousands of people to help residents complete the survey this spring, and they’re paying up to $25 an hour!

This Week's Highlights

SPECIAL MESSAGES:

  • CORRECTION – The calendar in the new issue of The Core newsletter has incorrect dates for spring break.

The issue has been corrected online, and the right dates are also published in the district calendar. We apologize for the error.

REGULAR INFORMATION

  • The Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Grand Prairie Elementary School, 3100 Caton Farm Road, Joliet. The public session starts at 7:30 p.m.
  • Nominations are due by January 17, 2020 for the 10th annual induction into the Plainfield Foundation for Excellence Alumni Hall of Fame.

The Alumni Hall of Fame honors District 202 graduates who have distinguished themselves beyond their high school years through their significant accomplishments or service.

Nomination forms are available on the Foundation for Excellence web site (www.d202foundation.org/202) under “Alumni Hall of Fame.” Please see the nomination form for more information.

  • Plainfield South High School’s United Sound chapter performed at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago again on December 19, 2019. The students performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” with the United States Air Force Band.
  • Plainfield East High School senior Nolan Hull will receive the 2019-20 DAR Good Citizen Award from the Louis Joliet Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
