Hello, District 202 Education Partners,

Here is this week’s selection of D. 202 news and information:

census 2020, everyone counts!

The 2020 Census will be held next spring and it’s vitally important to our community that everyone be counted. The Census helps determine our legislative districts and federal funding.

Here is some basic information about the Census.

Did You Know?

The Census will hire thousands of people to help residents complete the survey this spring, and they’re paying up to $25 an hour!

This Week's Highlights

SPECIAL MESSAGES:

  • Parents can apply for the computerized, random full-day kindergarten lottery through 5 p.m. January 24, 2020. The computer will pick 408 students on January 31, 2020 for District 202’s limited, full-day kindergarten program next school year.
  • District 202 will share steps families can take to be more aware of teen suicide and support and protect their children at a special program at 6:30 p.m. January 30, 2020 in the auditorium at Plainfield South High School, Doors will open, and community resources will be available at 6 p.m.

Student were wide eyed with excitement as they worked together to identify objects inside the pellets. Many students found small skulls, bones, beaks, fur and more. #202proud

facebook image from facebook Today is the first day to apply for a computerized, random full-day kindergarten spot in District 202. This will be the fifth year that District 202 has provided the limited full-day kindergarten program as it moves toward a plan to provide full-day kindergarten for all eligible children. District 202 parents can apply online for the lottery through 5 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020. The actual lottery will be held at 10 a.m. January 31, 2020. Families will be notified no later than February 1, 2020 whether their child has been accepted or put on a waiting list. The online application is posted on the front page of the district website (www.psd202.org), all 17 elementary websites and the website for the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center. #202proud
