Hello, District 202 Education Partners,

Here is this week’s selection of D. 202 news and information:

 

census 2020, everyone counts!

The 2020 Census will be held this spring. It is vitally important to our community that everyone be counted. The Census helps determine our legislative districts and federal funding.

Here is some basic information about the Census.

Did You Know?

Your responses to the 2020 Census are safe, secure, and protected by federal law. Your answers can only be used to produce statistics—they cannot be used against you in any way.

***By law, all responses to U.S. Census Bureau household and business surveys are kept completely confidential***

  • This month the Jon Balke Student Art Gallery is proud to feature works from Lakewood Falls, Eichelberger, River View and Walker’s Grove elementary schools; Aux Sable and Ira Jones middle schools; and Plainfield East High School.

Check out our students’ amazing talent February 3-27, 2020 during regular business hours at the District Administrative Center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield.

  • Several District 202 student athletes are competing in state tournaments this weekend:
    • The Plainfield South High School and Plainfield High School – Central Campus Dance teams;
    • The PSHS boys bowling team;
    • PHSCC junior Chris Bienvenu (competing individually at the state bowling tournament)
  • Indian Trail Middle School 7th grader Maya Mlynarczyk won the Plainfield American Legion Post’s inaugural Middle School Speech Contest on January 25, 2020. 

Her speech was titled, “Women’s Suffrage and the Importance of the 19th Amendment.” She will now compete in the 11th District Speech Competition at the Cantigny Visitors Center in Wheaton on February 29, 2020. 

  • PSHS senior Daniel Kiernan won 3rd place and PSHS freshman Graham Miller won 6th place in the recent Southwest Prairie Conference Varsity Scholastic Bowl tournament.
