This Week's Highlights

***PLEASE REMEMBER: District 202 serves seven communities. Some District 202 families cannot get Plainfield Library cards. If you can’t, please contact your home library (Joliet, White Oak, Shorewood-Troy and Fountaindale) about similar opportunities.

  • Several Internet/cable providers are offering discounted services because of the COVID-19 closure. Parents may wish to contact their local Internet or cable provider to about upgrades to their current service or start service.
  • The Plainfield Park District asks that residents practice appropriate social distancing on Park District trails and green space. Plainfield Park District playgrounds, athletic courts and skate parks are closed per Governor Pritzker's order.
  • Remember to complete the 2020 Census online or by smartphone now, and a Census worker won't have to visit later.

To put you in the right frame of mind, check out our awesome new 2020 Census video, featuring District 202 students and staff!

Census data help determine our legislative representation in Congress and our share of $675 billion in federal funding.

Remember, COUNT EVERYONE, BECAUSE EVERYONE COUNTS.

facebook image from facebook Yesterday, District 202 and Aramark provided 802 nutritious breakfasts and lunches to students 18 and younger in our community. That’s DOUBLE the figure from Wednesday, which was double the figure from Tuesday. Of that, our bus drivers from First Student delivered 114 meals to students’ homes. PLUS, our friends with the all-volunteer Bags of Hope backpack food program delivered their regular supply of about 140 meals this week on Monday. They usually deliver on Wednesday, so they had to do a tremendous amount of work over the weekend to make sure our students got their food. And Bags of Hope is working with Savino’s Beef and Gyros in Plainfield to serve their students next week. PLUS-PLUS, numerous parents and community members have volunteered to help deliver food to our students. We can’t begin to thank them enough for their generosity. Please see the “COVID-19/Coronavirus” page on the District 202 website at psd202.org and all school websites for more information about free food services for students 18 and younger, and please call (815) 577-4046 if you need food delivered to your home. #202proud
