Welcome to the District 202 "Virtual Backpack" system!
The Virtual Backpack is helping District 202 "go green" by allowing non-profit and approved community organizations to post fliers online instead of making and distributing thousands of paper copies, and saving everyone involved a tremendous amount of time, cost and work.
We hope you find this tool helpful!
Please contact District 202 Director of Community Relations Tom Hernandez for more information at (815) 577-4008, or firstname.lastname@example.org

District 202 is happy to share information with students and staff from approved non-profit community groups and other organizations as appropriate.
All approved materials will be posted to the district’s online “Virtual Backpack” system to save resources, time, money and labor. Generally speaking, paper copies of approved materials are not widely distributed in District 202 schools.
On behalf of the Superintendent, the district Community Relations Department will review and approve all distribution requests from external organizations. “External” organizations includes any group that is not directly affiliated with the school to which it wishes to distribute, including requests for distribution to more than one school and other schools’ PTOs/PTAs, community organizations, booster groups, etc.
Pursuant to District 202 Board of Education Policy 8:25, all “advertising” materials must be from:
Per District practices, such organizations can include (but are not limited to):
The Superintendent, or designee, shall not approve any advertisement that:
***Building principals may (but are not required to) review and approve requests to distribute hard copies of materials to their own students/staff from groups directly affiliated with their own schools such as their own PTO/PTA their own Student Council, etc. Such approval must still comply with the rules outlined above, and is subject to review by Tom Hernandez or the District Superintendent.
Upon approval, applicants will receive appropriate approval forms for displaying fliers in the main office, putting up posters and/or distributing fliers to students. The applicant must present all copies and approval form(s) to the school(s) or materials will not be accepted.
TO ENSURE SMOOTH OPERATIONS AT THE START AND END OF EACH SCHOOL YEAR, APPROVED MATERIALS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BETWEEN THE SECOND FULL WEEK OF THE SCHOOL YEAR AND ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE TENTATIVE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL (August 31, 2020-May 21, 2020.) ONLY ELECTRONIC POSTING WILL BE APPROVED BEFORE OR AFTER THESE DATES.
