Hey Youth Alive kids: Don't
forget about our meeting today in room 310, 3:30 - 5:00. The Diaz sisters have a skit to present and
some discussion time. We also want you
to know about our plans for the next several weeks.
The
"Fro-down" is officially over! Not able to deal with his long hair any
longer, Mr. Erickson finally got a hair cut last night. He sends his congratulations to Mr. Bouey on
his victory and his apologies for not being able to stick it out to all of his
faithful supporters. The winner of the
Fro-down prize package will be announced live on Friday during Aldis in the AM. Thank you again to everyone for all of your
generous donations.
Career Round Table
presentations are filling up quickly. Sign up in Student Services by
Friday, March 12th.
Looking for a GREEN Career?
Come to the presentation on March 17th during 4th period in the CCC and
hear Don Bassett an Industrial Hygienist. This is a
career that is VERY GREEN as one could make a lot of money working for big
companies and making sure their employees are using safe equipment while

Attention
Spanish Club and Honor Society Members!
We will meet today after school for a special viewing of the Foreign
Language Week assembly. Please bring a
snack or drink to share.
The
annual Student Art Show and Silent Auction is coming up! Student Art
will be displayed in Student Services on Thursday and Friday, March 18
& 19 and in the commons area during the Spring Musical performances.
You can place a bid for an original work of art during these days &
times. Winning bids will be announced on Monday morning, March 22.
If you have questions, please go to Student Services or see an art
teacher. Thank you.
Attention Students! Cinnamon Suckers are being sold in Student
Services. 4 for $1.00 or 2 for

It’s
time for the Operation Snowball Retreat again!
The Operation Snowball Retreat is a fun weekend get-away that allows you
to meet new people from all four Plainfield High Schools. We will have memorable presenters, games, and
the No-Talent Talent Show! This year it
will be held at Camp Manitoqua from April 9-11th. So if you are interested, pick up an
application in Student Services or in Mrs. McNulty's office Room 328.5. All Plainfield South students are able to
attend and don't forget to bring your friends!
Hispanic College Fair – We have two buses
going to this fair on March 18th. There
is still room. If you want to go, return
your permission slip to student services.
Seniors
who plan to attend an Illinois public university should look into the Illinois General Assembly Scholarships
offered by the offices of both Illinois Representative Tom Cross and Illinois
State Senator Linda Holmes. These scholarships pay for a year of
tuition! You may print out applications from their web sites:

Any
senior who ordered graduation announcements who did not pick them up should
come to the main office to pick up your order as soon as possible.
Tickets
for the Spring Musical, Pirates of Penzance, are now on sale in the main
office. Tickets are $5 for students and
staff, $7 for adults. The shows are March 19, 20 and 21.

from this site. Look under the
"Scholarships and Shared Files" links. Reminder to seniors: the
College Career Center is open during lunch hour to search and apply for
scholarships.
Catalyst
& Transition students: Do you need some help with
your homework or with getting organized for your classes? Come to Room 207 after school on Tuesdays
& Thursdays from 3:30 – 4:30. Let us
