Computer Club meets after school every Monday beginning September 13th in room 230. See Ms. Kuhn if you have any questions.

Attention all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors! Tryouts for the JV Cougarette Dance Team will take place next week. The mandatory clinic is Tuesday, September 7^th from 3:45-5:45 in the dance studio, and the tryout is after school on Thursday, September 9^th in the dance studio. Questions? See Ms. McElligott in room 419.

Auditions for extracurricular vocal groups will be held after school this week on Wednesday and Thursday.  Signup forms and information are available outside the choir room.  No experience is necessary and all students are invited to participate. See Mr. Landig in room 182 for details.

The first student council meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, in room 415 at 3:40.  All Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are welcome!  We will be discussing homecoming activities! 

The Questbridge Organization is now accepting scholarship applications.  Students may be eligible to receive up to $40,000 per year for tuition, $15,000 for room and board, and an expense paid campus visit to a top-tier college.  The Questbridge partner colleges include, but are not limited to: Princeton, Stanford, Yale, Pomona, Columbia University, Northwestern and more.  High school seniors who have a strong academic record and demonstrate financial need may be eligible to apply.  Visit www.questbridge.org for more information and to apply.  Deadline: September 30, 2010. 

Any student interested in joining the newly formed Principal's Advisory Group, please sign up in Student Services.  This group will actively participate in discussions to enhance the day-to-day life of our students at Plainfield South.

Colleges that will be visiting in September are: University of St. Francis, SIU Carbondale, Truman State, Rockford College, Universal Technical Institute, Northern Michigan, Monmouth, Illinois State, Illinois Wesleyan, Concordia, Eastern, Marquette, Michigan State, Augustana, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and St. Louis College of Pharmacy.  Sign up through Prep HQ or in Student Services.

Any senior interested in running for senior class office or serving as a representative can pick up an informational packet from Mr. Shubert in room #123.  Completed packets need to be returned no later than September 3rd.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Shubert.

The PSHS Math Team invites both new and returning mathletes to meet on Thursday, Sept. 2^nd in room 223. Students from all grade levels are invited to come in either before school between 7:30 and 8:00 or after school between 3:30 and 4:00. Coaches Hahn, Acevedo, and Singler will be there to hand out forms and answer questions. The first official meeting will follow on Thurs., Sept. 9th. We hope to see many of you this Thursday!

Attention Gamers:  Any student interested in playing non-electronic games is welcome to join the Gamers Club.  We will meet in room 323 on Thursday, Sept. 2nd from 3:30 to 4 PM. 

Plainfield South High School Curriculum Night will be held on Thursday, September 2^nd. This event is held for all of our students’ parents or guardians. The program, for most families, will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. However, any parent or guardian whose student is taking driver education either first or second semester must attend a program beginning at 6:15 in the auditorium. Please remind your parents to come out to Curriculum Night.
