Five more schools will get free meals beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.
Students at Plainfield High School-Central Campus, Plainfield South High School, Drauden Point Middle School, all satellite Bonnie McBeth Learning Center locations and the Ina Brixey Center, and Central and Ridge elementary schools will get free breakfast and lunch thanks to the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision or CEP.

“The Community Eligibility Provision is beneficial because it provides free breakfast and free lunch to all students and offers economic relief to families,” said Richard Engstrom, Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations for District 202.
“We are thrilled to have this opportunity to serve the community.”
All students in these schools are entitled to receive a free breakfast and lunch each school day so long as District 202 and its food service contractor Aramark continue to comply with government requirements.
The free student meals are not individualized. Students get two choices at the elementary level and at least three at the middle and high school level.
Complete meals include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, meat or meat alternatives, and milk.
All students with allergies or dietary restrictions must review the menu and ingredients with their parents and know what items they should or should not consume.
Please call Drio Turcios at (815) 577-4052 or food service company Aramark at (815) 436-6270 for more information.
