Social Work Information
WHY SEE A SOCIAL WORKER?
There are a lot of reasons why students might see a social worker!
Academic struggles (low grades, test anxiety, organization)
Peer issues - conflicts, drama, social media stuff
Family stress
Negative thoughts about themselves/low self-esteem
Emotional concerns (anxiety, depression)
SOCIAL WORK SERVICES
Middle school is an exciting time...but it can be challenging! We are here to support all students and families as they try to navigate these three tricky years.
Support can be provided in a number of different ways:
Weekly group or individual sessions
Check-ins as needed
Consultation with teachers
Assistance to parents/families
Referrals to community agencies
HOW CAN I TALK TO MY SOCIAL WORKER?
You can stop by the social work offices during your passing period and make arrangements to talk with them
You can ask your teacher for a pass (if the social worker is busy, there is a form to fill out to request that they call you down later)
You can ask to your parents to reach out to them and
request a check-in
INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
We are a resource for students...and also for parents and families as well. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any concerns or questions. We are happy to discuss these with you and provide support as needed.
In addition to social-emotional supports within the school building, we are also familiar with community resources and can provide appropriate referrals.
Please contact us via phone or email; contact information is provided at the top of this site, and can also be found on our individual web pages by clicking on the links
