Two students from two District 202 middle schools took top honors in the 2024 Three Rivers Educational Partnership (TREP) Middle School Safety Poster Contest.
Tatum Visor, a sixth grader from John F. Kennedy Middle School, earned the grand prize for her poster about traffic safety.
Jonah Orlando, a seventh grader from Timber Ridge Middle School, earned first place for his poster about carbon monoxide.
Orlando and Visor are among 10 District 202 middle school students honored in this year’s contest.
Twenty-five high school and 32 middle school students were recognized in the 8th annual contest. There were more than 200 submissions.
Students created posters that focused on recognizing and eliminating safety hazards at home, in school, or during extracurricular activities.
The goal of the contest is to nurture a safety mindset in the students.
