Aux Sable Middle School students can earn prizes this summer by completing fun and educational online activities.

“Quest for Success: Summer Adventure Edition” is a new program spearheaded by Assistant Principal Elizabeth Simonic and Becky Young, Learning Specialist and lead Instructional Technology Coach at Aux Sable.

“It is important for students to do this program so that they can maintain the skills they learned during the school year and build skills to be successful when school starts,” said Simonic.

Students sign up for weekly challenges in different subjects such as reading, writing/journaling, math, science/social studies, social emotional learning, and digital citizenship/manners.

The challenges include journaling prompts, designing paper airplanes, scavenger hunts, and reading comprehension activities.

Students earn points for completing activities, said Simonic.

Families can attend family nights where students can redeem the points for prizes including gift cards and event tickets.

The school is hosting these pop-up family events:

  • 4 to 6 p.m., June 27, Aux Sable Middle School, 2001 Wildspring Parkway, Joliet

  • 4 to 6 p.m., July 23, Meadow View Elementary School, 2501 Mirage Ave.

  • 3:30 to 6 p.m., August 13 on locker move-in night, Aux Sable Middle School

Aux Sable students can sign up in Google Classroom. Questions? Email Simonic at mailto:esimonic@psd202.org.
